Blue Angels review low pass that rattled Florida beach crowd

What's new: The Navy team said the jet flew below standard approach profiles, but no injuries were reported in Pensacola Beach.

The Navy's Blue Angels are reviewing a low-altitude pass after video showed one of the squadron's jets roaring close to beachgoers at Pensacola Beach, Florida, during a Wednesday event. The team said the aircraft flew lower than standard profiles during an arrival maneuver, kicking up enough force to toss chairs and umbrellas along the beach. Video from spectators spread on social media, and local station WEAR reported the flyby happened during a "Breakfast with the Blues" event. The Blue Angels said team leadership is conducting a safety review and will examine whether the maneuver met Navy and FAA standards. No injuries were reported.
