BGN finds 950 MBG kitchens possibly lacking hygiene standards
BGN is urging regional offices to help kitchen operators register for SLHS so MBG facilities meet food-safety requirements.
Badan Gizi Nasional has found around 950 Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG), or kitchens for the Makan Bergizi Gratis program, that are suspected of not meeting hygiene and sanitation standards in various regions across Indonesia. The finding was disclosed at a news conference in Jakarta on Friday. BGN said kitchens that have not met the standards pose risks to food safety for MBG beneficiaries. It has therefore sent a circular to its regional offices to assist kitchen operators in registering for the Sertifikat Laik Higiene Sanitasi, or SLHS. Sudaryono said the report remains a serious concern because SPPG that are already operating must meet hygiene and sanitation requirements.
