BGN uses school cafeterias for MBG in 3T areas

BGN also is preparing CSR-run public kitchens and says Rp5 triliun in SPPG funds have been disbursed gradually since Friday.

Badan Gizi Nasional is preparing school cafeterias as alternative kitchens for the Makan Bergizi Gratis program in remote and 3T areas, especially when student numbers are too small to justify building a new kitchen. BGN chief Nanik Sudaryati Deyang cited a school in Lombok Barat with 119 students and a site in Raja Ampat with 115 students. In such areas, BGN considers it more efficient to use existing facilities rather than build new satuan pelayanan pemenuhan gizi units. Beyond school cafeterias, BGN is opening the option of using public kitchens built through CSR, including Pertamina facilities. Nanik said the scheme is intended to keep MBG funding from relying entirely on the APBN. On reports that some SPPG units stopped operating because funds had not yet been disbursed, she said the transfers began gradually on Friday and continued on Monday.
