BGN suspends MBG for school break, audits all kitchens

Unfit SPPG kitchens will be shut, and the incentive formula will shift to match recipient numbers and food quality.

Badan Gizi Nasional has temporarily suspended the Makan Bergizi Gratis program during the school break to audit all kitchen providers, or Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi. Deputy head Agustina Arumsari said kitchens that are unfit and fail to meet SOP will be closed before the program resumes when students return. The audit also covers governance, human resources, and beneficiary data collection. BGN is preparing a revised SPPG incentive structure so it will no longer be a uniform Rp6 juta, but instead will be adjusted based on the number of recipients and indicators of food quality and food safety. BGN is also open to merging SPPG as part of a refocusing effort so nutrition interventions are more targeted and the budget is more efficient.
