Bellingham scores 7 as England end World Cup with 6-4 win

The England midfielder broke the single-tournament record of six held by Harry Kane and Gary Lineker.

Jude Bellingham ended the 2026 World Cup with a new record after scoring his seventh goal as England beat France 6-4 in the third-place match in Miami, United States, on Sunday. The goal came late after he entered as a substitute in the 79th minute. The tally made him the first England player to score seven times in one major tournament, surpassing Harry Kane and Gary Lineker, who had each scored six. In the tournament, Bellingham scored against Kroasia and Panama in the group stage, netted twice against Meksiko in the round of 16, added two more against Norwegia in the quarterfinals, and then scored against France. Bukayo Saka also scored a hat trick for England in the same match.
