BEI expands HSC committee to 9 members, adds foreign investors

Five of the seats are now held by outside parties, a move pushed by OJK to strengthen transparency in HSC stock selection.

Bursa Efek Indonesia has expanded the High Shareholding Concentration Committee to nine members by involving outside parties, including industry players, academics, governance experts and foreign investors. The change followed a request from Otoritas Jasa Keuangan to improve the methodology and mechanism for determining HSC stocks so it is more transparent and credible. BEI President Director Jeffrey Hendrik said four committee members come from self-regulatory organizations: two BEI directors, one director from PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia and one director from PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia. The five external members are Alex Widi from Mandiri Sekuritas, Joshua Arief Tanja from UBS Sekuritas, Prof. Dr. Mardiasmo, Prof. Dr. Eduardus Tandelilin and F. Chapman Taylor from Capital Group. BEI data show 88 stocks were listed in the HSC category in 2026.
