Bea Cukai seizes 19,142 bottles of liquor with fake stamps in Bali

Potential state losses of Rp2,14 miliar were prevented; investigators are now questioning witnesses and gathering evidence to name suspects.

Bea Cukai, along with BAIS TNI, seized 19,142 bottles, or 14.400,36 liters, of alcoholic beverages suspected of using fake excise stamps in Bali. The evidence was valued at Rp12,55 miliar, with about Rp2,14 miliar in potential state losses prevented. The operation began with intelligence on the stockpiling of illegal liquor in Denpasar. On Thursday, 23 July 2026, a joint team stopped a vehicle on Jalan Padma, Legian, Badung, after it left a building on Jalan Laksamana III, Banjar Babakan Sari, Denpasar Timur. During inspections of the vehicle and two buildings at the site, officers found thousands of bottles of MMEA golongan B and C of various brands. All evidence was taken to the Bea Cukai Bali, NTB, dan NTT regional office. The case is now in the investigation stage in coordination with Polda Bali and Kejaksaan Tinggi Bali.
