Baznas: National zakat collections reach Rp44 trillion of Rp340 trillion potential

Badan Amil Zakat Nasional said national zakat collections have reached only about Rp44 trillion, far below the Rp340 trillion potential. The gap was highlighted at Leaders Talk 2026, held by Forum Zakat with the Perkumpulan Organisasi Pengelola Zakat and Baznas in Jakarta on Rabu (10/6). Baznas RI Chairman Sodik Mudjahid said cross-institution collaboration, human resource networks and integration of muzakki data are key to raising collections. The forum, attended by 89 Forum Zakat members, also focused on digitizing zakat management. One outcome was a commitment to build a national zakat data dashboard. At the same event, Dyah Tri Kumolosari of the Kementerian Koordinator Pemberdayaan Masyarakat said about 2,2 million people still live in extreme poverty, underscoring the need for zakat to be managed in an integrated, data-based way.
