Basarnas deploys KN Bhisma to search for 13 missing in Teluk Tomini
On day two of the search, a Luwuk team joined the operation as 11 foreign passengers and two crew remain unaccounted for.
Basarnas deployed KN SAR Bhisma to search for 13 people who lost contact in the waters of Teluk Tomini, Sulawesi Tengah, on the second day of the operation, Saturday. The group consisted of 11 foreign tourists, a captain, and one crew member. They had departed from Sanctum Una-Una Dive Resort for Pelabuhan Marisa, Gorontalo, on Friday morning. The vessel was expected to arrive around 11.00 Wita, but had not reached its destination by evening. Head of the Palu SAR Office Muh Rizal said KN SAR Bhisma left Pelabuhan Luwuk at 09.40 Wita carrying 13 personnel and was estimated to reach the search area around 19.40 Wita. The search had earlier been delayed on the first night because waves reached 1,5 to 2,5 meters.
