Bareskrim seizes 1,257 bales of illegal used clothing in Subang
The haul is valued at Rp15 miliar, while transactions since September are suspected to have reached tens of billions of rupiah.
Bareskrim Polri seized 1,257 bales of used clothing suspected of entering illegally from a warehouse in the Intijaya Subang Industri warehouse complex, Block A-29, Subang, West Java. Bareskrim Polri Special Economic Crimes Director Kombes Suhasto said the initial value of the goods was estimated at Rp15 miliar, with each bale valued at Rp6 juta to Rp12 juta. Based on witness questioning at the scene, storage and trading activities are suspected to have been underway since September 2026. Investigators suspect the warehouse was rented by a person identified as DAN, with operational responsibility held by someone identified as W. Police are now tracing the source of the goods, the route into Indonesia, the operating method, and the distribution network. The case is being handled under Article 111 in conjunction with Article 47 paragraph (1) and/or Article 112 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 51 paragraph (2) of the Trade Law, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a fine of Rp5 miliar.
