Barcola hat trick powers Liverpool past LASK 6-3 in Champions League
What's new: Liverpool made it two wins from two in the league phase, while Lewis Koumas became the club's youngest player to score and assist in a Champions League game.
Bradley Barcola scored the first hat trick of his professional career as Liverpool beat LASK 6-3 in Linz on Wednesday, bouncing back quickly from their loss to Manchester City. Barcola struck his first goals for Liverpool after arriving from Paris Saint-Germain, while Florian Wirtz added an assist in a dominant attacking display. Lewis Koumas also scored and, according to The Guardian, became Liverpool's youngest player to score and assist in a Champions League match, surpassing Steven Gerrard's mark. Liverpool piled up 19 shots by halftime, a BBC statistic said was the most by any team in the first half of a Champions League away game since records began in 2003-04, but still conceded three times after the break.
