Barcelona have moved into the advanced stages of signing Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal after their bid to land Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid fell through. The 29-year-old Brazil forward is expected to cost around 10 million euros, with final contract details still being worked out before the Tuesday deadline. Jesus is scheduled to fly in for a medical on Monday. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta earlier confirmed Jesus was not training with the squad ahead of the match against Aston Villa, adding to signs of an exit. Napoli had also shown interest in Jesus, but Barcelona are now the front-runners. Since joining Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022, Jesus has scored 32 goals and provided 22 assists in 123 appearances.
