Minangkabau Airport revamps terminal with Minang touches

Check-in and commercial areas were redesigned, boarding lounge and toilets upgraded, while flight operations continued normally.

PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia is carrying out beautification and revitalization work at the passenger terminal at Bandara Internasional Minangkabau, Padang, to improve service comfort while highlighting the identity of Sumatra Barat. General Manager BIM Dony Subardono said the upgrades cover four areas: visual transformation of the interior with Minangkabau motifs such as Kaluak Paku and Pucuak Rabuang, renovation of the boarding lounge and disability-friendly toilets, rearrangement of the check-in and commercial areas to improve passenger flow, and the addition of green space inside the terminal. The airport is also adding visual, sound, taste and scent elements through regional music, Sumatra Barat food tenants and Rumah Gadang-inspired design. Physical work is being partitioned and scheduled during off-peak hours so it does not disrupt flights.
