BAIC books 407 orders at GIIAS 2026, BJ30 HEV tops sales

BJ30 HEV led BAIC's tally with 201 orders, while the T1 electric vehicle drew 139 SPK after its debut at the show.

BAIC Indonesia closed GIIAS 2026 with 407 vehicle orders over the 11-day exhibition. The biggest contributor was the BJ30 HEV with 201 SPK, followed by the T1 with 139 units, the BJ40 with 51 units and the X55 II with 16 units. BAIC's booth also drew nearly 20,000 visitors and recorded more than 500 test-drive sessions. BAIC Indonesia Chief Operating Officer Dhani Yahya said the result shows hybrid SUVs remain in demand among Indonesian consumers. He said the BJ30 HEV attracted interest because it combines SUV character, performance and fuel efficiency without requiring external charging. The T1, BAIC's first electric vehicle in Indonesia, also received a strong response after being introduced at GIIAS 2026. Consumer feedback focused mainly on its design, spacious cabin, driving comfort, acceleration and features such as Parking Assist.
