Bahlil Denies Involvement in Prabowo Wiretap Case, Claims Victimhood
Bahlil denied attending any meeting with the alleged suspects and urged police to reveal the facts and investigate the claims.
Golkar Party chairman Bahlil Lahadalia denied claims linking him to allegations of wiretapping President Prabowo Subianto. At the inauguration of Golkar's Maluku DPD I board on Saturday (7/11), Bahlil said he too had been the victim of wiretapping, making the accusation against him implausible. He also denied reports that he took part in a meeting with the alleged perpetrators before the arrests were made. Bahlil urged security forces and police to disclose the facts of any such meeting, if it existed, and to fully investigate whoever spread the allegation. According to a statement from Mabes Polri cited by CNN Indonesia, police have named four suspects in the case, including former police chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
