Bab al-Mandeb Strait ship attack kills 1 Indonesian
Also new: two Pakistani crew members died, while the ship and owner remain unidentified and Houthi have not commented.
One Indonesian national was reported killed in an attack on a merchant vessel in Yemen's Bab al-Mandeb Strait on Tuesday (11/8). An initial report by Al-Jumhuriya TV, quoted by Anadolu, said three crew members died in total, including one Indonesian and two Pakistanis. The outlet said the attack was suspected to have been carried out by Houthi, but the group has issued no official statement. The identity of the vessel and its owner have also not been disclosed. The Bab al-Mandeb Strait is an entry point to the Red Sea on the western side of the Arabian Peninsula and an important route for commercial shipping in the region.
