Australia face Turki in key Group D World Cup match
After Amerika Serikat beat Paraguay 4-1, the Vancouver clash could quickly reshape the group qualification picture.
Australia meet Turki in their opening Group D match at the 2026 World Cup at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver on Sunday at 11.00 WIB, in a contest that could quickly affect the race to advance. Pressure increased after Amerika Serikat first beat Paraguay 4-1. Turki arrive with strong scoring form in the European qualifiers, netting 18 goals in eight matches. Vincenzo Montella's team are led by Arda Guler and Kenan Yildiz and returned to the final tournament after edging Kosovo 1-0 in the Path C playoff final. Tony Popovic's Australia rely on a tight defense; the Socceroos conceded only seven goals in 10 Asian qualifying matches. Popovic also said all of his players are fit, including Mo Toure.
