ATR/BPN and BRAN restructure agrarian reform authority
A Jakarta meeting highlighted overlap in land and spatial planning duties, seeking to prevent duplicate work by the two agencies.
The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency and Badan Reforma Agraria Nasional held a meeting in Jakarta on Wednesday to clarify the division of duties and functions in agrarian reform. Deputy Minister of ATR/Deputy Head of BPN Ossy Dermawan said the arrangement of work relations and the division of authority are needed so that agrarian reform, land affairs and spatial planning can run more effectively. He stressed that alignment is necessary so that no work is carried out at the same time by ATR/BPN and BRAN. At the meeting, the Head of BRAN presented an analysis of BRAN's organizational structure and work procedures as material for formulating a structure that is considered capable of supporting the agency's duties.
