At HIPMI Lampung congress, Prabowo urges business leaders ignore critics

President Prabowo Subianto urged the Himpunan Pengusaha Muda Indonesia (HIPMI) to stay focused on work and ignore those who are “nyinyir” as he opened Munas XVIII HIPMI in Bandar Lampung on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. Addressing participants, Prabowo called for unity and gotong royong, and said young entrepreneurs need militancy and a spirit of nationalism to drive economic growth. He also said HIPMI has long served as a forum that has produced community leaders and economic leaders. The congress is being held at Hotel Novotel Bandar Lampung on June 10-11 under the theme “Sinergi Pengusaha Muda Membangun Kekuatan Ekonomi Nasional”. Its main agenda includes selecting the HIPMI chair for the 2026-2029 term, with four candidates: Ade Jona Prasetyo, Anthony Leong, Reynaldo Bryan, and Afifuddin Kalla.
