At cabinet meeting, Prabowo raises MSCI and savings options
New: The president opened the door to sweeping savings to preserve state financial resilience amid global turmoil.
President Prabowo Subianto raised MSCI as he opened a plenary Cabinet Meeting at the Jakarta Presidential Palace complex on Wednesday, saying Indonesia is ready to face global pressure and financial market volatility. He said the government will continue to protect the national interest, but acknowledged the challenges remain large and public expectations high. In the forum titled “2 Tahun Pertama Pemerintahan Kerja Nyata untuk Negeri,” Prabowo also opened the option of greater savings if needed to maintain the country's financial resilience. He linked the economic situation to Indonesia's foreign policy line of siding with no bloc and emphasizing good relations with neighbors.
