Aston Villa closed their preseason tour in Indonesia with a 3-1 win over Indonesia All Stars at Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta on Saturday. The visitors led through Emiliano Buendia in the 3rd minute, Ross Barkley in the 45th, and Brian Madjo in the 57th. Indonesia All Stars responded through Arkhan Kaka after converting a rebound in the second half.
Coach Unai Emery started several first-choice players, including Pau Torres, John McGinn, and Alejandro Garnacho. Indonesia All Stars offered resistance, including a Hokky Caraka effort that hit the post in the 29th minute. Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto said his team played freely and with confidence despite having only a short training period. He said Kaka's goal could boost the young striker's confidence, but lamented Jordy Wehrmann's injury.
