Arsenal land Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle in £75m deal

Arsenal completed the signing of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United for £75 million, adding the Brazil midfielder to Mikel Arteta’s title-winning squad. Guimaraes, 28, agreed to a four-year contract with an option for another season after leaving Newcastle’s training camp in La Manga to finish the move. He had captained Newcastle to the 2025 Carabao Cup, the club’s first major domestic trophy in 70 years, and helped them qualify for the Champions League in 2023 and 2025. Guimaraes said he wanted a new challenge and a chance to win more trophies. The transfer strengthens Arsenal’s midfield alongside Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Martin Zubimendi ahead of a season in which the club will again compete on multiple fronts.
