Arsenal face Manchester City in Community Shield moved to Cardiff

What's new: The season-opening match is being played in Cardiff instead of Wembley after four nights of Weeknd concerts.

Arsenal and Manchester City are set to meet in the Community Shield on Sunday, with this year’s traditional English season curtain-raiser shifted from Wembley to Cardiff. The match features the reigning Premier League champions, City, against Arsenal in a fixture that often serves as an early benchmark before the league campaign begins. BBC Sport noted that Community Shield results have rarely predicted the title race: only eight of 34 winners since 1992-93 went on to win the Premier League that season, while losing teams have won the league 10 times. Last year’s winner, Crystal Palace, finished 15th in the league.
