Arsenal beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 on Madueke's 80th-minute goal

Why it matters: Arsenal stayed in touch with Manchester City after a flat display produced just one shot on target.

Arsenal ground out a 1-0 Premier League win at Nottingham Forest on Sunday, with Noni Madueke scoring the only goal in the 80th minute after coming on at halftime. Madueke cut inside from the left onto a pass from Declan Rice and his shot took a deflection off Jair Cunha before beating Matz Sels. Arsenal controlled possession but created little for most of the match, and the winner was their only shot on target. Forest threatened late through Liam Delap, Chris Wood and Murillo but could not end their home scoring drought. The result was a big one for Mikel Arteta's side, which had started the day six points behind Manchester City.
