Apriyani Rahayu moves to mixed doubles, set to pair with Dejan
The pair is projected to debut at the Taipei Open 2026 on July 28-Aug. 2, while Dejan's former partner shifts to a new pairing.
Indonesian shuttler Apriyani Rahayu has moved from women's doubles to mixed doubles and is projected to partner Dejan Ferdinansyah. Apriyani began training in the new event earlier this week and is being prepared for the Taipei Open 2026, from July 28 to Aug. 2. Mixed doubles coach Rionny Mainaky said the move began with a request from Dejan and was approved after discussions with head coach Karel Mainaky and PBSI development chief. Rionny said Apriyani's background as a former women's doubles player could speed up her adjustment, especially in back-court play. PBSI has also reshuffled another pairing: Dejan's former partner, Bernadine Anindya Wardana, is now set to team up with Verrell Yustin Mulia and is scheduled to make her debut at the same tournament.
