Anthropic Q2 revenue tops $11.5 billion ahead of possible IPO
What's new: The Claude maker also posted positive adjusted operating income as it courts investors for a potential fall listing.
Anthropic’s preliminary second-quarter revenue exceeded $11.5 billion, up more than 14-fold from $787 million a year earlier and sharply above $4.73 billion in the first quarter, according to documents reviewed by Bloomberg News and reported by CNBC. The Claude chatbot maker also generated positive adjusted operating income in the quarter, a milestone as it prepares for a possible blockbuster IPO. The figures could still change. Anthropic has been meeting prospective investors and could go public as soon as this fall, seeking fresh capital to fund the heavy computing, hardware and data-center costs of the AI race. The company is competing with OpenAI for corporate customers and said in May that its revenue run rate had passed $47 billion.
