Anthropic filed for IPO after posting $80.7 billion first-half loss

What's new: The S-1 points to a Nasdaq listing under ticker ANT, with trading targeted for the week of Nov. 16.

Anthropic filed paperwork for a U.S. stock market debut, giving investors their first detailed look at the finances and risks behind one of the biggest AI offerings ever. The Claude developer reported $16.2 billion in revenue in the first half of 2026 and a loss of $80.7 billion over the same period, roughly double its full-year 2025 loss. The filing also flagged supply dependence on chips and data centers, plus the possibility that advanced AI systems could create catastrophic harm if not properly controlled. CNBC reported the S-1 names Nasdaq ticker ANT and that The Wall Street Journal pegged the start of trading for the week of Nov. 16.
