Anne Hathaway is expecting her third child at 43. Her representative confirmed the news to ABC News after Hathaway posted an Instagram video showing a baby bump to the song “Baby, I’m Yours”. Hathaway and her husband, Adam Shulman, already have two children, Jonathan and Jack. Obstetrician-gynecologist Neelam Suri, quoted by Hindustan Times, said pregnancies in the 40s are becoming more common and can still be safe with proper planning and medical monitoring. But she warned that the chances of natural conception decline after age 35 and even more after 40 because egg quality and quantity decrease. The risks of gestational diabetes, hypertension, preeclampsia, chromosomal abnormalities, preterm birth and low birth weight also rise.
