Amnesty report alleges state-backed West Bank expulsions
What's new: The group said 27 Bedouin and herding communities were displaced or faced displacement in Area C from 2023 to 2025.
Amnesty International released a report on June 10 accusing Israel of carrying out a state-backed campaign to forcibly displace Palestinian Bedouin and herding communities in the occupied West Bank, arguing the moves are aimed at accelerating annexation. The rights group said 27 communities comprising hundreds of Palestinians were displaced between 2023 and 2025 or remain at risk in Area C, which makes up about 60% of the territory and stays under Israeli control under the Oslo framework. Amnesty said settler violence, settlement expansion and government support for outposts formed part of the same policy. U.N. data cited by NPR showed more than 100 West Bank villages were fully or partly emptied between January 2023 and April 2026.
