Ajer earns Brentford 2-2 draw as Villa's home wait drags on
What's new: Brentford stayed unbeaten in the Premier League, while Aston Villa still have no home league win this season.
Kristoffer Ajer scored late to secure a 2-2 draw for Brentford at Aston Villa, extending the visitors' unbeaten Premier League start and leaving Villa still searching for a first home league win of the season. Yehor Yarmolyuk put Brentford ahead after pressure forced a mistake from Tyrone Mings, but Nicolas Jackson leveled less than two minutes later. Villa then moved in front when John McGinn's shot deflected in off Ajer, only for the Brentford defender to respond with an equalizer that also took a slight touch off Victor Lindelof. The result capped a volatile game in which both teams struck back quickly and neither could hold a lead.
