Ahead of Aug. 27 rally, civil groups urge calm at DPR

Kemkomdigi also warned against hate speech and provocation spreading on social media before the rally.

Several civil groups and the government are urging the public to maintain order ahead of a planned Aug. 27, 2026 demonstration outside the DPR RI building in Jakarta. The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs asked people not to spread hate speech or provocation on social media so the atmosphere remains conducive in both physical and digital spaces. Gerakan Pemuda Islam and Prabowo Mania 08 also called for the rally to proceed in an orderly and peaceful way and not be used to divide society. Separately, Aliansi Masyarakat Pati Bersatu said its action is focused on two demands: speeding passage of the RUU Perampasan Aset and imposing the death penalty on corruptors. AMPB coordinator Supriyono, also known as Botok, said the crowd is not bringing an agenda to oust Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
