After a year, Sekolah Rakyat students in Lombok Barat gain confidence

After a year since the pilot program began in July 2025, Sekolah Rakyat in Lombok Barat is starting to show changes in its students. Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf reviewed an open house at Sentra Paramita Mataram, Nusa Tenggara Barat, on Friday, July 10, 2026, and brought prospective students together with students who have studied there for a year. He said children from poor and extremely poor families are now more willing to present themselves and have regained their ambitions. One example is Novatul Alratia, 14, a student at SRMP 18 Lombok Barat, who was said to have changed from shy to national pencak silat champion. Haikal Abdul Majid, 14, was also seen as more disciplined and more willing to appear in public, to the point of becoming a school prayer leader. The program targets families in deciles 1 and 2 in the National Socioeconomic Single Data.
