Aceh Barat allocates Rp6 billion to restore 1,308 hectares of rice fields
Next, 96 farmer groups in eight districts will work on drainage, canals and piping so the rendeng planting season can restart in October.
The Aceh Barat regency government has distributed Rp6 billion in self-managed funds to farmer groups to restore 1,308 hectares of rice fields damaged by flash floods on 26 November 2025. The Aceh Barat Agriculture, Food Crops and Horticulture Office aims to finish physical work in the field by late September or early October so the land can return to productivity before the rendeng planting season. The work is being carried out through a type IV self-management mechanism by 96 farmer groups in eight districts, including Kaway XVI, Pante Ceureumen, Arongan Lambalek, Bubon, Woyla, Woyla Barat and Woyla Timur. Repairs are focused on piping, canal normalization and improving paddy-field drainage. Development in Sungai Mas District has been placed in a separate land rehabilitation program.
