AC Milan end Ismael Bennacer contract, move toward Al Gharafa
The Algeria midfielder closes seven seasons at San Siro with 178 appearances and the 2021/2022 scudetto.
AC Milan ended Ismael Bennacer's contract early by mutual agreement in this summer transfer window. The 28-year-old Algeria midfielder closed a seven-year spell with the Rossoneri after joining from Empoli in 2019 for 16 million euro. At San Siro, Bennacer made 178 competitive appearances, including 137 Serie A matches, and was a key figure when Milan won the 2021/2022 Italian league scudetto under Stefano Pioli. His career was later disrupted by a serious knee injury at the end of the 2022/2023 season. After returning to action in December 2023, he was loaned to Marseille and then to Dinamo Zagreb. Several reports said Bennacer will continue his career in Qatar with Al Gharafa.
