98th Youth Pledge marked with ceremony at ex-Stovia dormitory
The 28 Oktober 2026 commemoration again highlights Kramat Raya 106 and the 1928 Youth Congress as symbols of unity.
The 98th commemoration of Hari Sumpah Pemuda on 28 Oktober 2026 was held with a ceremony at the former Stovia student dormitory in Jakarta, while once again drawing attention to the trail of the 1928 Kongres Pemuda and the pledge “Satu Nusa, Satu Bangsa, Satu Bahasa.” Historical focus also turned to the Museum Sumpah Pemuda on Jalan Kramat Raya 106, Kwitang, Jakarta Pusat, a site that holds collections linked to the event. One of them is the violin of Wage Rudolf Soepratman, which was used when “Indonesia Raya” was first performed before the Sumpah Pemuda was read. A number of commemoration writings this year also emphasized the theme “Patriotik, Gigih, Berempati: Pemuda untuk Indonesia” as a message for young people in education, work, and public life.
