700 Officers Raid Kampung Ambon and Boncos, 24 Held
Police seized methamphetamine, marijuana, etomidate, scales, and weapons, while urine tests on the 24 detainees continue.
A joint team from Bareskrim Polri and Polda Metro Jaya raided Kampung Ambon and Kampung Boncos in West Jakarta on Friday morning, October 9. The operation at the two areas long known for narcotics trafficking involved 700 personnel, including Brimob, BNN, Polres, Polda, and TNI. By the time the search was underway, police had secured 24 people: 16 from Kampung Ambon and 8 from Kampung Boncos. Polda Metro Jaya Narcotics Director Kombes Bismo Teguh Prakoso said their status is still under review and they will be checked through urine tests. Officers also seized methamphetamine, marijuana, etomidate, a bong, scales, and sharp weapons including arrows, spears, and bows. Police said some people tried to flee, including toward a river.
