7 Works by Women Inmates Featured at Palembang Fashion Week
New: the “Si Cantik Laperang” collection blends jumputan and South Sumatra batik in a modern style.
Seven fashion works designed by women inmates at Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Perempuan Kelas IIA Palembang were featured at Palembang Fashion Week 2026 on Saturday (7/11) in Palembang, South Sumatera. The outfits were modeled on the runway by the inmates alongside professional models. The collection carried the theme “Si Cantik Laperang” and combined traditional South Sumatera fabrics, namely jumputan and batik, into modern designs. The appearance gave the inmates a platform to show creativity and skills developed during rehabilitation, while bringing local textile heritage before the public through works they designed themselves.
