5 European flights hit by bomb threats, one diverted to France

Four planes landed safely in Poland, Spain and Bulgaria, while a Dublin-Rome flight was diverted to Evreux air base.

At least five commercial flights in Europe have been targeted by bomb threats over the past two days. On Tuesday, four planes bound for Poland, Spain and Bulgaria landed safely after security checks. SAS SK751 from Copenhagen arrived normally at Chopin Airport, while LOT Polish Airlines from London Heathrow was diverted to Warsaw Modlin Airport and its passengers were evacuated before the plane was inspected. In Spain, a Ryanair flight from Manchester to Murcia triggered emergency protocols before being declared safe. A Wizz Air flight from Bergamo was also checked after landing in Sofia. Separately on Thursday, an Aer Lingus Airbus A320 flying from Dublin to Rome was diverted to Evreux Air Base in Normandy after a bomb threat while it was flying south of Paris.
