46,000 Singapore Airlines booking records exposed in Amadeus breach

What's new: About 620 records may also have exposed emails, phone numbers, travel document details and KrisFlyer numbers.

About 46,000 Singapore Airlines booking records were illegally accessed in a data breach at reservation-technology provider Amadeus, the airline said. Exposed data included customer names, booking reference numbers, travel itineraries and booking classes. In about 620 cases, the compromised information may also have included email addresses, phone numbers, travel document details and KrisFlyer membership numbers. SIA said the incident was limited to Amadeus’ platform and did not involve a breach of the airline’s own IT systems. It said no bank account or credit card information was exposed and no bookings were changed. The carrier is contacting affected customers with upcoming trips to change booking reference numbers, and Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission is investigating.
