400 trees, including rare flora, planted on Gunung Pinang, Banten
The 1-hectare planting included kokoleceran, a protected endemic species from Banten, along with fruit and timber trees.
Krakatau Posco and Perhutani planted 400 trees in the Gunung Pinang area of Serang, Banten, to enrich vegetation and increase biodiversity in the protected forest. The planting took place on plot 16 of RPH Cilegon BKPH Serang, covering 1 hectare, in observance of World Environment Day and POSCO Global Volunteer Week 2026. One of the species planted was kokoleceran, or Vatica bantamensis, an endemic Banten plant classified as a protected species under Environment and Forestry Minister Regulation No. 20 of 2018. Other trees included trembesi, pinang, mahoni, meranti and ketapang, as well as productive plants such as durian, alpukat, nangka and matoa.
