4 classrooms at SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 collapse since 2024
After the case went viral, Pemprov DKI moved to fix the school, while parents said students’ Quran lessons have been halted for nearly two years.
Four classrooms and one UKS room at SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 Pagi, Jalan K.H. Ismail, South Jakarta, have collapsed since 2024 and have still not been repaired. The building is covered with roof debris, support pillars and school furniture that were crushed, making the area unsafe for learning activities. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said Pemprov DKI will soon handle the school after the case spread on social media. Parent Evi Afrida said the building caved in during the DKI Jakarta regional election holiday on Nov. 27, 2024, at around 06:30 WIB and caused no fatalities. Since then, parents have been waiting for follow-up from the education office, while the afternoon school schedule has caused children’s Quran lessons to stop for nearly two years.
