31-year-old man arrested after raping 90-year-old in Grobogan

Police arrested RU, a 31-year-old man, after he was suspected of raping a 90-year-old woman in Sumberjatipohon village, Grobogan district, Central Java. The incident occurred on the night of June 29, 2026, at the victim's home while she was alone because her family had gone to a funeral prayer. According to investigators, the suspect, who lives in the same village, entered the victim's house, threatened her, and carried out sexual violence despite her resistance. The attack stopped when a family member returned home and caught the suspect, who then fled. The victim later told her family about the incident, and the case was reported to police. RU was arrested at his home on July 15 and is now being questioned at the Grobogan Police station. Police also seized evidence and charged him under Article 473 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
