3 US troops killed in Iran attack, Trump threatens response

New: an Iranian missile hit a prefabricated barracks at Muwaffaq Salti Base in Jordan, injuring nearly 100 US personnel in the region.

Three United States troops were killed in an Iranian attack on a US military base in the Middle East, prompting a new retaliation threat from President Donald Trump. The Pentagon said two service members died at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan and another was killed in northern Iraq. The Wall Street Journal reported that the Iranian ballistic missile that struck Muwaffaq Salti hit a prefabricated housing unit used as US troop barracks, after another missile hit a gym and an empty hangar. The Pentagon identified two of the victims as First Lieutenant Tyler J. Feehan of Hawaii and Isabella Gonzales of Texas, while the third was still being identified. CBS News, citing the Pentagon, also reported that nearly 100 US personnel were injured in the series of Iranian attacks in the region.
