3,161 joint personnel secure Hotel Sultan eviction today
The GBK Block 15 eviction proceeds under a Central Jakarta court ruling requiring PT Indobuildco to vacate the land and buildings.
A total of 3,161 joint personnel from the TNI, Polri and the Pemda were deployed to secure the eviction of GBK Block 15, the former Hotel Sultan in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday. A day earlier, officers were on standby around the GBK area while workers and groups opposed to the eviction gathered in front of the hotel and displayed protest banners. Separately, Pusat Pengelolaan Komplek Gelora Bung Karno prepared 300 technical personnel from PPKGBK, the Kementerian Sekretariat Negara, legal counsel and the Kantor Jasa Penilai Publik, with support from PLN and Telkom for asset recording, documentation and safeguarding of goods. The basis for the eviction is a Pengadilan Negeri Jakarta Pusat ruling on 28 November 2025 that rejected PT Indobuildco's lawsuit and declared the state the legal owner of the land, requiring Indobuildco to vacate the Hotel Sultan area.
