29-year-old man dies after being thrown from 2nd-floor pool hall in Grogol
Police have arrested 3 of 8 identified suspects, while the person who shoved the victim from the second floor remains at large.
A man identified as DM, 29, died after being assaulted and thrown from the second floor of the Weston pool hall in Grogol, West Jakarta, on 10 May 2026 at around 02.00 WIB. Police arrested three suspects, identified as NA, AE, and MLS; two of them are still minors. Grogol Petamburan Criminal Investigation Unit chief AKP Alexander Tengbunan said the fight began when the victim and the suspects, who did not know each other, were both under the influence of alcohol and got into an argument. As he went down the stairs, the victim briefly grabbed one of the suspect's friends. A group assault then broke out, a window shattered, and the victim was pushed and fell from the second floor. DM remained in a coma for four days in the hospital before dying. Police said only three of the eight identified suspects have been detained, and the person who pushed the victim is still being sought.
