22 hurt in 3-vehicle Tuas crash; 19 were migrant workers

What's new: Four workers employed by Dragon Offshore Engineering remained hospitalized a day later, while 15 had been discharged.

Twenty-two people were taken to hospital after a three-vehicle crash in Singapore's Tuas industrial area on June 18, and authorities later identified 19 of the injured as migrant workers riding in a lorry. Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force were alerted at about 6.50am to the collision along Tuas South Avenue 3 toward Tuas South Boulevard involving a minibus, a lorry and a prime mover. The injured, ages 21 to 53, were conscious when taken to hospital. Six went to National University Hospital and 16 to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. The Ministry of Manpower said the 19 workers were employed by Dragon Offshore Engineering and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. A 41-year-old male minibus driver is assisting police investigations.
