2 foreigners charged in Changi Airport perfume theft cases
What's new: Police said one suspect was arrested while transiting through Singapore more than eight months after the alleged theft.
Two foreign men were charged in Singapore on Aug. 17 over separate perfume theft cases in the transit area of Changi Airport, police said. A 37-year-old Australian man is accused of taking two perfume boxes worth about S$430 from a Terminal 2 store on Nov. 19, 2025, then leaving the country. He was arrested on Aug. 4 when he returned to Changi in transit. In a separate case, a 50-year-old American man was arrested before boarding his flight on Aug. 5 after CCTV linked him to a stolen perfume box worth more than S$310 from a Terminal 1 shop. Police said further footage tied him to two more stolen items worth more than S$400, all of which were recovered.
