2 ex-Certis officers in Singapore get 1 week each for CPIB vape tip-off
What's new: They were the last of 13 former Certis officers sentenced in the case, after others got 10 days to two years.
Two former Certis Cisco officers in Singapore were each jailed for one week after one of them leaked details of a Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau probe and urged the other to throw away vape items that could be evidence. Tan Wee Keong, 38, admitted obstructing justice after telling former colleague Reggie Choo Beng Kwang, 33, that his name had surfaced when CPIB interviewed Tan in July 2022 about officers attached to the Health Sciences Authority's Tobacco Regulation Branch. Choo then disposed of at least one e-vaporiser and three packs of pods between July and August 2022. A second charge over Choo's deletion of a WhatsApp chat with Tan was considered in sentencing.
