15 charged in Minnesota for obstructing federal immigration raids

Federal prosecutors charged 15 people in Minnesota with conspiring to impede federal officers during the Trump administration's immigration crackdown in the state. Twelve defendants were arrested Tuesday, two remained at large and one was already in custody, Minnesota U.S. Attorney Daniel N. Rosen said. Prosecutors alleged members and associates of Direct Action Minnesota coordinated surveillance, rapid mobilization and blockades to disrupt ICE operations. The charging documents also cite alleged stalking of agents, ice thrown at vehicles, damage to government property and assaults on officers. The alleged conspiracy began in January during Operation Metro Surge, a federal enforcement push in the Twin Cities and nearby areas that prosecutors said led to more than 4,000 arrests.
