15,080 Runners Join Riau Bhayangkara Run 2026 in Pekanbaru

A total of 15,080 runners from Indonesia and several other countries took part in the Riau Bhayangkara Run 2026 in Pekanbaru on Sunday (19/7). The event, part of the 80th Hari Bhayangkara celebration, started in front of Mapolda Riau and featured half marathon 21 kilometer, 10 kilometer and 5 kilometer races. Organizers said 2.511 participants entered the 21 kilometer race, 5.000 the 10 kilometer race and 7.569 the 5 kilometer race. Beyond the race, the event was used to promote the “Riau Lawan Karhutla” movement. Participants received a Nona Seroja baby elephant doll as a symbol of wildlife conservation in Riau, along with trembesi tree seedlings for greening efforts and fire prevention.
